Wednesday

Half way through the working week! and its come round soooo quickly!

time flies and all that!

After posting a few syn related tweets i decided to invest in the new 2011 food directory and apart from not having Nandos syn values in its pretty good!

On the way home i decided to go through the superfree and free sections to get some ideas and then decided to make a list of things that surprised me as being free.

Now not to appear thick and i have been doing SW for some time but some stuff i've either been told has syns or i already knew and it shocked me and i thought i'd share. i think i might have been depriving myself of some things:

  • Passata Free on all plans - this shouldn't be a surprise as tomato is a fruit but i guess i've been doing EE for so long i didn't expect it.
  • Dried Mushrooms - not sure if all makes and types but i expected syns - although not something i would eat
  • Water chestnuts and Bamboo shoots
  • Aldi Be Light Fat Free Cottage Cheese with pineapple
  • Savoury Rice / Pasta and Sauce - I eat a lot of Savoury rice but only since doing SW, i've always associated packet stuff like that as junk. Couldn't eat a pasta and sauce if you paid me but Rice i Like
  • Heinz Meat free tinned Raviolli - wow i love this stuff not had it for about 4 years!
  • Sainsburys Be Good to Yourself Beetroot salad
  • Tripe - i have never eaten this nor will i but really free if you like it wow eat away same for Kidneys etc
  • Birdseye Simply Salmon with Garlic and herb crust and the one with Lemon and herb Butter - Crust, butter syns surely? not according to the book
  • Pastrami - i bloody love this Nom Nom Nom and i looked it up not so long a go as people kept telling me it syn'd but its Free.
  • Iceland in general - there are quite a few free things, none of which i fancy as all in sauces and glazes but if you like that check it out
  • Tesco frozen BBQ Salmon burgers
  • Tesco Chicken Tikka Fillets
  • Tesco peri peri mini fillets
  • Tesco Meat free chicken burgers / grills  - my consultant told me about these a while ago and they are fit!
  • Tesco Lemon and coriander Cous Cous
  • Seafood Sticks - i HATE THEM EWWWW but they are free! eat if you like, do they contain any seafood and do they have any nutritional benefits?
  • Very Lazy, Chillis, Garlic and Ginger - i have avoided these since on SW back in business!!!
This is not a full list these are just things that jumped out at me, stuff i really fancy mixed with stuff i really hate.

Think the moral of the tale is even if you know what you are doing is it pays to re-read you books.

Not to get stuck in a rut and try new things. i am going to make another list this time a shopping list maybe 4 one for each supper market, Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Aldi then when i go to each one buy some of the new free foods!
