Song lyrics seem to be the theme of the week - you guessed it i've got oasis on itunes as we speak.
Yesterday i meant to talk about my title, there are three sides to this story. Then i rambled on.
What i was going to say was that i think those words apply to weight loss, for me they do and for people in my slimming world class as well.
I am the weigh-in girl and i notice what people tell me at the scales and what they tell the consultant vary wildly. I also know my self on my weigh loss journey i constantly lie to myself!
when people get on the scales there is a wide variety of emotions and lots are pheeeew i managed to lose/ only gain a little bit it was a bad week, then in class they say they are devastated and don't understand sometimes i want to put my hand up and say you confessed x y z to me at the scales and you were bloody happy with what the scales said. then on the flip side people who put loads on who don't get it at all, then in class the full confession comes out, because they have sat and chatted with people and realised what they've been thinking of as "free" food really needs to be counted and they they are ok with the gain, then there are the people who get that really shock when they think they've had a bad week and get on the scales and lose and sometimes lose good! i love the look on their faces and often say i nearly didn't come, my scales at home made me fear the worst! In class those people are often very modest and tell the truth and say i don't know how i did it.
as i've said before i often kid myself, tell myself that its ok to have 3 pieces of bread instead of 2, low fat spread doesn't count etc.
so my three sides are
What i tell myself - it won't make any difference
What i tell the world - such as i don't know why i've gained
The scales - the all knowing wise wisdom of the world - if i've had a good week, i will lose, if i've had a bad week i will gain!
Ok sometime but only few and far between times when the scales don't know everything, such as water retention.
I also believe although this contradicts what slimming world tells us. they my body doesn't know i weigh in 7pm monday nights so it has to lose and gain between that 7 day period. i believe if you have a truely bad week and lose it will catch up on you no matter how good you are the following week and it think its important not to get complacent if you have a few bad weeks and still lose, it will catch up on us in the end. i also think if you have a fab week and gain not to lose faith that goodness will catch up if you have another good week.
my 4lb loss has spurred me into action.
i have gone over syns today as i had a krispy kreme doughnut for 14.5syns i didn't enjoy iy very much plus i'd already had other stuff and i still haven't had my tea!
one bad food choice does not need to lead to a bad food day / week / month
Happy bank holiday people and i might post again later with todays thoughts and food diary
