Pamper day

Well what a funny days its been!

A few days a go my friend text me asking me to do her a big favour and go to a pamper day today. I agreed why not still free nothing better to do.
Me:" how much is it"
Friend: "Free, its a special offer"
(Me : Gift horse, mouth, ok why not)
Friend: "we need to take some spare clothes"
Me "why?"
Friend: "well they do a make over then they take some photos"
(Me : oh bugger i really don't wanna do this but i have agreed)
Friend: "you need to take your passport"


So we got the bus down to Manchester. and went to Double Take Studios  if you click on this link and hover over the Photograph studio you will see pics of the sets they used.
When we arrived we got a drink and access to snacks, i did have a tunnocks teacake and it was worth every syn!

We the got took into hair and make up, we decided to let the makeup artist do what every they wanted so i had smokey brown eye makeup a hot heavier than i'd ever use but it was so the camera could pick it up behind my glasses! they put velcro rollers in my hair to give it a bit of volume but and it was ok.
The we got to meet our photogpher who was a lovely lad called Dan. we had a few group shots done, we had to sit on some white fake steps, back to back and then hug and a then my friend had to climb on the ledge and rest her back on the wall and stretch her legs out and bend her knee and i sat on a lower step and we couldn't see how it'd look good but it was the best photo of the shoot,
we had three outfit choices, i wore a black dress from next with tights and heels (we had to take our own clothes) the navy dress i worse on NYE and jeans and a flowery top that i'd gone down there in.
its such a shame i don't have any of the pics to share. but they were ridiculous prices and they did a mini hard sell. but we were strong and didn't buy any.

i'm sure we will recreate some of the poses on our next night out!
the makeup looked nice but when i came to take it off it was like an episode of snog marry avoid! pod would have been ashamed!

also the make up was a lot paler and i don't think it looked right. i looked like another friend on some pics which isn't soo bad but it just wasn't me.


It was a nice fun day, there were a lot more people there than i expected and a few strange outfits and a couple of naked pregnant people, the sets were all open so that was a bit odd, and if you can be strong willed i'd take them up on the no obligation pamper day!

Tonight we went to The Huntsman Inn, In Holmefirth, it was really nice as its the only think i had to eat today i'm not gonna complain

I got my contact through for my new job today, i just said i start on monday so i called the number on the ltr expecting it to be HR, i wasn't sure though so i asked if i could speak to someone in the HR team. They asked why so i said, i'd just received the offer of employment and wanted to speak to someone to discuss monday then the person at the other end went " Is that you Steph?" i was thinking wow fab HR they knew it was me, then the voice went "its me Debbie" someone who was on my team at E.ON! who started working at my new place in Jan! how funny to get through to someone i knew! She's been on FB tonight talking to my mum (she's ot my friend) saying how good it is and stuff, plus other after my 1st interview someone asked her if she knew me and she said yeah i was nice and did a lots of systems training, which is true but she can be a but funny at times and i never expected her to be so nice! When i did speak to the HR woman she said she'll email me conformation but would prefer me to come in at 9am not 8.30am which is my official start time so she can check who will be there as my line manager in based in Solihull but i'll be in Manchester. and to find me a desk - the are currently moving to another floor so desks are short at the mo! (are all work places short on desks?) and i'll get an Hour for lunch! (at eon people who do 8hour days get 36 mins but i did 10 hour days so got 45mins ) i won't know what to do with myself! might have to get myself barred from paperchase or i'll end up buying all the stock!

once again no photos, just need to work out to get them off ipod on to here. one day i will sus it out xxx
